mopartony- I cant belive that aluminium headed small block would be so heavy and weight only 100lbs less than 500cid iron headed bigblock with two carbs...But I need to weight my motor to be sure
You and I are in the same boat. I was hoping it would be lighter. But it isn't. I might be able to get a pic of the tag, but it is in MI and I am in AZ and my stepdad just was at my house this morning before I saw this post. Or I would have had him get a pic of the tag.
Let me look through the ones i have and see if one is clear enough and I will post it.

Uoah...500 pounds is not what I expected to be honest. What weighting there so much? Heads are aluminium only block is iron and crank are quite tiny also...

The heads are pretty big, as is the manifold and water manifold. The block is deep skirted with 6 bolt caps. When you think about it, you can see where the weight is. I was shocked liked anyone else though!
