Mine....Can't seem to get it above 150* with the 408 W2 motor. It was purchased to keep my 700hp Hemi cool, but it sure does work really well on the 408.

I like what I see here - does the fan assembly come with the radiator?? Thanks!

No but they are dual 12" thru Jegs. With the 408 I only need one of them. It was set-up to cool the Hemi which typically would get to 185 on the street with that set-up.

You should see the set-up I just put in my '78 D100 with an aluminum shroud...Love the way that looks and I went with a S-blade fan, talk about quiet!

This is the picture I was reffering to:

Slow down there Greenie.
If you had READ THE POST you would know that I had experienced enough cooling problems that I kept the old butchered radiator around for mock up. That radiator had a flex fan go through it. Instead of throwing it out I used it to set up new fans off the car. It saw several different electric fans before I settled on the Mercedes unit.

Everything on the hot rod looked beat because It was a collection of used parts with the exception of the wheels, tires, and brakes. I'm sorry you don't approve of my Frankenstein ride. It was built with lots of input from Moparts members. The project began back in 2000.

Now, it may not have been pretty but everything worked. In fact, it made it to Green Bay, WI and back to DFW without missing a beat.

I have been through a lot of trial and error with that car in the last 13 years. It's been used as a test bed for all kinds of stuff.
When I find something that will help others, I'll share what I know so they will have an easier time putting their car together.
If you want something that works, I can tell you what I know. It's up to you to make it pretty.

Andrewh and I spent a LOT of time and effort getting that fan controller tuned up for Hooziewhatsit to sell. We never asked for anything in return for our efforts. It was done so that others may use a good working system.

It works.

When you can open the hood, lay a cooling fan on top of the engine, and it runs for more than an hour without getting hot You know it's a good fan.

Try that with your fan. Pull it off the radiator. Set it on top of the engine. See if the engine overheats.

Another thing to consider is your charging system. If it is stock the MB fan will probably be to much for it.

It draws 39 amps running at full speed. I ran a power lead from the alternator through a fuse and into the the fan.

Running on the controller it shouldn't draw anywhere near that kind of power.

A typical square back alternator runs 60 to 78 amps.

One more time for the learning disabled I don't need to read your post I have a fan setup that works and is proven That's what the OP's question was so relax there pancho.

Wow!!! That's great ...... But I don't care. What does this have to do with the OP's question ?????

Please refer to the above reply once again.

Maybe that's a new marketing strategy for you you can sell them as " BLOWERS" or put one on your car and get rid of the turbos

Try that with your fan. Pull it off the radiator. Set it on top of the engine. See if the engine overheats.

I prefer to have my fans properly installed. Besides didn't Volkswagon do that for years

I already have a Mercedes fan setup and I will have to give you this it works great and fits the radiator perfectly. It's on my wifes Mercedes and that's were it will stay. When it comes to my toys I will go with the Ford Taurus and Contour fans because their easy to get, Look clean when installed and they work

It’s nice that you guys use Ford, Chevy and Mercedes fans on your MOPARs, but why not keep your MOPAR all MOPAR with a Chrysler 300 fan. They fit nice and are only $90 on ebag.

That does look like it fits nice. Do you have more pictures? is it 1 fan or 2 ? is there a controler involved or can they just be done with a relay or switch ?

The Ford fans are easy they have plenty of Fords in the junk yard .... hahhaha
