I cannot spill all the beans, but I will be participating in the Detroit dragway reunion this Saturday as the shoe of a historic Nostalgia Pro Stock Car. I am very excited for the opportunity to represent this car and be given the chance to show it with pride. Some can speculate as to what car it might be, I will not comment if you are right or wrong. It is the chance of a lifetime IMO. For any that are concerned, I will treat this vehicle with the utmost respect for its value and historic significance. I can't wait till Saturday, and for a good time come support this event at Milan dragway this Saturday.

Sweet!
What are the details of the event for those of us too lazy to look it up?
They picked a pretty good shoe for the car from what I have seen.
Have fun!

I am looking at your avatar picture and thinking that you took that advice with a grain of salt.

For the respect of the car owner. Car is a little untested and does not want to hype what could be a bust. Says if the outing is good I can shout out on top of Mt Sinai.

Had a great time at the track Saturday. The car in Question was the Macomb Missle Don Carlton built 77 Aspen oowned by Mike Ricketts. Car was uproven so expectations were optimistic. First test pass car did good burnout and everything worked fine till I tried to set the transbrake.....It did not hold, rolled beams as .400 tree came on so I did get the timers started. 2.5 60' mid 10 at 144. Got to feel out the car at speed and knew it had some steam. Cool thing about it was Mike encouraged me to do a bigger entertaining burnout. We found a broken wire on transbrake button at wheel and got repaired for first exhibition run. Had a nice 150-200' burnout After backing the car up I decided to make sure one more time that the brake was gonna hold in low gear. Looked up and I was already staged Sorry Al Petrlius and the Lightning Colt it was an accident, but before I could back out Al staged his colt and lights came on. I released button without bringing up launch rpm 1.34 60' 8.79@150 . We did get the stripe in the round. Mike mentioned how nicely that HEMI rang his ears when I went past him on the burnout Last pass we put everything together. 1.24 60' 8.73 @ 156 Car was on a rope. There is more in this combo, but it would need some professional tuning help to set it in the right direction as it is plenty rich. Had a great time and can't wait for the next opportunity.

That's awesome, I thought it was Mikes car you were going to drive. Glad to see he let the ole girl go down the track.

I knew he'd been a bit unsure since that car has history and some next to impossible parts to replace if anything happened.
