Anybody used this stuff? I bought a 2002 1500 P/up and the trans has sluggish shifts ocassionally. I plan to change tte trans fluid and filter but wondered if a quart of this stuff put in for a couple hundred miles would help clean up the varnish and contamianats if run a bit before I do the fluid/filter change. It also shows a cannister inline filter between cooler and trans that I haven't found yet. What are your thoughts on refreshing an automtic tranny without a pull and rebuild? Any thing proven to help or product to use? There are no leaks in the tranny, just a bit of hesitation and slow shift, especially when cold

I have used Trans-X many times over the years with great success. It was recommended to me by a trans builder in Connecticut back in the 70's. He said it was the only additive he would use. I had a 727 in the mid 90's that wouldn't shift right no matter what I did. Everything was adjusted correctly, but it's shifts were erratic as h*ll. Put a quart in it, drove it about 10 miles and everything smoothed right out. Drove that rig for over 10 years.

My 99 Ram 1500 96,000 miles had a weird 1-2 shift sometimes it was sluggish and felt like it couldn't make up it's mind what gear it should be in sometimes. If I took off hard 1/2 to 3/4 throttle it wouldn't do it and would shift fine. I put some of the Lucas trans stuff in it and it didn't help at all it might have actually mad it worse.
I replaced the throttle position sensor as recommended by a member here and it made a big difference it was almost perfect. I then changed the fluid and filter and now it shifts like it did when I bought it new.

I would replace the TPS it's a simple job takes about 15 minutes it costs $25. After I changed my TPS my fuel mileage went up almost 3 MPG so it will pay for itself in a couple months. Change the fluid and filter if that doesn't help then put the snake oil in it.

Trans X is some awesome stuff and has never let me down.I have put it in four vehicles and three of them that I know of are still racking up well over 100,000 miles and were slipping really bad before I changed the fluid and filter before adding it.The latest victim is my daughters neon and it was whining real loud until I added transx...

Yep- this is what it's doing almost exactly at 94224 miles. I think I may do all three. Thaks for the tip on the TPS.
