I have a 71 Challenger with a list of options...Factory sunroof, power windows, sixway seat, air conditioning, cassette deck on console, wide chrome on front( spring special)as well as chrome along back of hood and top of doors along with other chrome packages, rear defog, three speaker dash, and a 383 auto. Just wondering how rare and if anyone knows of any other cars with this many options? This car is not an R/T

The wide chrome M28 is not a Spring Special, at least not down here in the states. Just a molding option that 10% (IIRC) of Challengers and R/T got ordered. As is the A46 molding group that. It seems a higher percentage of 71 E-body got a bunch of options. And as usual, Canadian cars are loaded full of sweet stuff. Especially the 71 B, E, and A performance cars.
Still, that 71 Challenger of your is very loaded About all that's left is wings and louvers.
Here's a 71 Challenger RT with the A78 formal roof option (not S/E)

Any Idea how many sunroof 71 Challengers are left?
Rarity is 95% based on how many were made. I think there are numbers for 71 Challenger and Challenger R/T sunroofs off of the production options report.
Your Challenger is very loaded. What color is it? And the sunroof tops it off. That's a rare car.
Anyone saying "how many are left" of almost any car is near futile.
These reports you see in magazines about how many are left are usually the Galen Govier registry. And that is just the cars that send in info to him or he has seen. It's a big world. There are other registries too, but they are also statiscally grossly inaccurate. Third, you see the owner stating how many he "has seen". That's truely rediculous.
Maybe with cars or options that are less than 20, that everyone has kept track of for some time (ie hemi convertible #'s are pretty accurate). Or maybe the wingcars, since they have been tracking them since the very early 70's. And even they don't know real well.

Its B5 blue with a blue interior
Dang, that's sort of close color and bright trim to the one pictured above.
Do you have the sunroof production numbers for 71 Challengers and R/T's??
IIRC, they made more 1971 sunroof challengers than 1970 Challengers. Even though 71 Challenger production was much lower. Still very low number no doubt.
The top loaded 71 Challenger is the Hemi sunroof extremely loaded car of www.stevenjuliano.com

My friend has a 70 Challenger R/T (383) sunroof car. Same thing, 2 fender tags and plenty of options. Options include luggage rack, speed control, power windows, 6 way seat, side molding with blue insert (pretty rare for an R/T). Its white with B5 blue interior. Rumor has it that most sunroof cars in 70/71 were loaded. NOt sure if thats true. The car cost more than a hemi car when you added up all the options.
I would also love to see some sunroof numbers. I think at this point ASC would be the only company to have the numbers, but they reinvented themselves so many times (including at least one reorg out of bankruptcy) that I doubt they have any records from the 70s'

I have a 1971 Challenger 340 convert with (27) factory options. I have the build sheet. I believe that it is still the highest optioned 71 Challenger convert in the E-body convert registry. It is correct that on average, the 1971 E-bodys were more highly optioned than the 1970 E-bodys.
Do you consider an "option" every seperate paid line item on the window sticker. Packages like A46 are one option? Or are you adding up items on the build sheet?
I can see how a 71 340 vert car can rake up the options. Since there was no R/T vert people created their own R/T by carefully going through the option sheet. So instead of automatically getting a R/T hood, gauges, side stripes... You had to pick them individually.
There was red 71 vert fairly loaded around here. But no A46, M28, leather seats, no cruise (but N/A w/340), no shaker but perf. hood... Did have fast ratio steering, but may have been a post Mar? 71 built car that got it automatically. Supposedly used in the Mop Squad show.
These pics were when it had ~70K orig miles, nice orig paint. Very good reference car at the time. But owner let it sit in bad storage and it got a complete resto.
I count all the extra cost options. What I should have quoted was that I have (27) extra cost options on a 1971 Challenger convertible. The 340, I do count as an option. Here is a list of the (27) extra cost options that I have, verified by my build sheet...

There was a yellow/white top & int, sun roof '71 383 RT here in FL years ago, about 1990. The owner also had a orange/white top & int sun roof '70 383 RT with about the same options.
Guy I work with has a loaded '71 Challenger convertible, yellow/black, 383-4, 727, hood pins, Rallye side stripes, 15x7 Rallyes, luggage rack, AC, PS, PdiscB, PWindows, 6-way, AM/FM casste/recorder on hump as it was column shift, Executive Lease car. It was coded for buckets but has a bench in it , most likely was put in for the Chrysler exec when it was new. Only thing I saw missing from having most options available was either the wide hood moulding or a Shaker hood.

If you could find out if he has the build sheet, and count his options, It may be close to my car or perhaps more. I would be very curious if there is another 71 converible out there with more than (27) options.

That's pretty loaded! About all I can figure left with the other options is: side tape stripe or molding, seat material upgrade, V21 hood tape, J46 locking gas cap, C62 six way seat, J45 hood pins, and ultra rare C13 conv shoulder belts.
You can see how those 340 verts got a lot of options since a lot of that stuff was std in the 1970 R/T conv. But it was the closest you could get to a 1971 R/T conv.
Was the car built after March or so? After then all 340's got the fast ratio standard not extra cost.
I assume the 3 speed stick std for 71 340 Challenger's? The price guide shows $229.35 for D34 automatic.

Ever see a F19 code before its on the build sheet too...It must be a miss print on the build sheet and they put it on the tag.
I get F25 as a 70 amp battery. FWIW, F23 is a 59 amp battery in a 71 Dart. Is F19 an even smaller battery?? And you car has power sunroof, power window, and A/C
That R36 radio was $337.05 That's about 12% the base cost of /6 Challenger hardtop! More expensive than the 440-6 option on an R/T and halfway to a hemi
In a modern $20K V-6 Mustang that would be equal to a $2400 radio nowdays!
