I've heard the length is different, but that's coming 3rd hand and off memory so here's a so that you can get a definative answer. Dave

If memory serves me correct....The only thing different is the actual shaft. This of coarse providing that the two columns you have are the same in being either console auto/4speed or column shift. The shaft can be stretched and shortened, but the lower part of the shaft is slightly different if your doing an accurate restoration. The shaft itself is actually two pieces and the upper (steering wheel) parts are the same. I actually had stripped splines on my original steering column shaft (manual) and used the upper shaft portion from a spare (power) column I had. worked perfect. Hope this isn't confusing... Scott

Scott, You will have to disassemble them both a little to remove the shaft. If you have a Factory Service Manual it would help. If not PM me I will scan the pages and send it to you. Scott
