Yanked the intake and rockers off, and the cup height of my current lifters are .015" higher than the HT-976s (at least the kind with the tiny dimple in the bottom of the cup). If I remember right, they are Johnson hylift that I bought from 440source many years ago. They were oil-through the pushrod type lifters.

I am also swapping cams from an Isky to a Comp so I'll comparison measure the round part of the lobe and re-check preload once the new cam is in before bolting on the intake.

If the comp and isky cam are the same size, these new lifters should work perfectly with the BB chevy pushrods, my preload should be about .030".
