Nice numbers. I currently have a 511 in my 3000# Duster. The best I have run with it is 10.00 @ 135.26 mph. That was at 6100' corrected elevation.
My set up is: 4.25 crank, 6.535 length rods, dome pistons that make 14.3 compression ratio, 440-1's touched up by Dwayne Porter(no porting), ProSystems carb(90p90s jets), timing set at 36*, 2" Hooker fender well headers, 1.6 Indy rockers, Comp cams roller cam .631/.631 272 in/280ex @.050 lobe lift .421 installed @ 106. The total lift is .672. I would love to get mine on a dyno to see what it actual makes for power.
Maybe I am missing something. Any suggestions appreciated.

There is a lot of power in finishing the porting work . Go to a 2.25 intake valve, full port, and a cam like they are running. Up the compression by cutting the heads. You can cut them down to 64cc if you need to. Should make an honest 825 to 850 hp with the right headers. It might work well to make the headers you have into step headers 2 to 2 1/8 to 4 inch collector with a total primary somewhere around 32 inch.

We finished up one of my favorite engines, 400 block, 4.25 stroke,Callies billet I-Beam rods,CP Flat top pistons, 13 to one compression, our custom ring pack that we have been using, 440-1 325 Heads,CNC ported by Indy, T@D single shaft rockers 1.6 ratio, single 4500 manifold, Pro systems 1050, our shelf solid roller 279/290 on 112 installed at 108, .471 lobe lift and VP 110 Fuel. What a great bracket engine these make.
Very nice numbers. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
With the low deck and .471 lobe x 1.6 = .753" lift what lifters are you using? (offset intake seat?) What do those Indy CNC 325 (2.19 vavle) flow? I think Indy claims 375cfm, but have you tried them on the BEST flow bench? What was the torque peak rpm? Your table seems to start after the peak.

Sorry it took so long to get back with all of you, The headers we dyno with are a very old set of hooker race headers with adjustable primary lengh, 2" tubes and there 3.5 collector. The primary tubes are as short as they will go. This block is a 230 one with pro gram steel billet caps and hardblock about 1/2" over the freeze plugs. It was one of mine that was a spare for my Super Bee. We do not use gridles. They are the same heads the customer had on his 499. The bob weight was not ultra light, steel rods and heavy pins. The camshaft always works well that we used, we have a series of them and they make good power. I dont have a dyno sheet with me for peak TQ, maybe Jim will chime in with that. It was stiil rich on the dyno sheet I posted, but the customer whats to tune it the rest of the way in the car, it has a hood scoop that sealed to the carb. The 440-1 head just works so well that is why I like them, we have combos with unported heads 4150 carb and hyd. cam on pump gas that with make 650HP, Flat tappet, little more compression on same deal 700HP all low decks. Like I said these are great engines, just remember its not one magic part but the combination.

Pete if its not giving away some speed secrete what is the purpose of the rubber spark plug boots and clear tube connecting the carb bowl vent tubes together. Is that to equalize the pressures on the fuel bowls?

I noticed a little fuel coming from the front bowl the tubing allows it to travel to the rear without affecting anything I use the spark plug boots and tubing to allow the hood to close without hitting the tubing.
Thanks Steff hope it does I can't wait to test it out should be installed by this weekend unless this cold gets the better of me.

13 to 1 compression. Could that engine be run at that compression on E85?
IMO it should be just fine. I run my 511 low deck at 13.5 CR (68cc Indy 440-1) on E85.
My heads have some old Muscle Motors porting, showing 355 cfm on their bench. So they are not as good as the CNC heads on Savoy1964's engine. 9.2 at sealevel and 3225 lbs.

When you changed to oiling through the push rod did you keep the spray bar valve covers? I am thinking about changing mine over to oiling through the push rods and still using the spray bar's as well.

Man, I thought the 655" post was impressive. This one is much more budget minded. (if possible with a Mopar). I would love to have even one of these combo's to play around with.
