Great idea! You will need a 4 speed slant bell housing for the 833OD.

My 68 charger is black on black and was original /6 with 3 on the tree. It had a 7 1/4 with 2.73 but it was so bad I throw it in the trash. The column shifter is in so bad condition and I can't find any parts over here. So I was thinking of the 833 tranny I have from a 383 and rework the /6 bellhousing to fit it. Yes I know I'm (It's one of only four made according to Galen)

Keeping the slant and adding a 4 speed and turbo would really mess with people's heads. It won't be as fast as a V8. If you want to stay slant? Come on over to www.slantsix.org There is some great turbo builds going on. What rear, and gear do you have now?

Unless you have a lot of rear gear you will really beat up your clutch trying to get it moving. That is why they used the 3.09 low gear with Slants.
That's why I went with a 3.91 in my D100. The 3.09 low and original 3.21 rear gear was fine when empty. With the trailer on the back, it took a bit of clutch dust to get it moving. Now with the 3.91, the only time I have to ride the clutch with a load is on a steep incline.

In '66 I tuned up a Barracuda /6 4 sped for the district service rep. so yeah, they did exist but weren't common. It did confirm my belief that rowing through the gears makes any car more fun. Ron

I did this on my /6 Barracuda. Here is the long and short of it. You have 3 problems to overcome. Bellhousing, Clutch Fork, & Clutch Linkage. You need a bellhousing with a 4 speed bolt pattern so you can bolt an 833 to it. Back in the sixties they did make some 4 speed /6 bellhousings but they are virtually impossible to find here, over there, I doubt it is going to happen. Plan B: Later model Trucks/Cars had a dual bolt pattern bellhousing for the slants. Unfortunately they are all overdrive. But this is an easy fix. You can; Run an Overdrive Transmission. Swap transmission parts around until you get a standard gearset in an overdrive housing. OR Machine an adapter to adapt the non overdrive transmission's input shaft bearing retainer to an overdrive bellhousing. Brewers or Passon probably sell one but I made mine. 2nd Problem, is the overdrive bellhousings usually (maybe always?) used a different clutch fork. It used a ball pivot instead of the tab pivot that most older mopars used and it is longer. They need to be a matched set, Bellhousing & Fork buy them both together. 3rd problem is the Z-Bar. It must reach from the frame to the engine and line up with the clutch pedal rod & Clutch fork. Older /6 cars used a very long Z-bar and will probably not line up with the clutch for from an overdrive bellhousing. A z-bar from a later model car would probably be too short or not line up with the clutch pedal rod. I made a freaky looking adapter that bolted to my Z-bar and added a pivot further to the drivers side that was aligned to the clutch fork. It is heavy (about 6oz) but I didn't have to modify my original fork. The factory clutches were pretty springy so it works fine. If I were to do it again I would buy a spare one from Brewers/Passon and have the lever moved over. They may be able to do it for you. I did notice a late model truck with a hydraulic clutch fork in the JK once, it may be an option also. Good news is that I think all /6's used the same diameter flywheel just different pressure plate bolt patterns so I do not think you will run into a problem like the V8's where they made 11" and 10.5" flywheels that won't interchange inside bellhousings. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. I hope it helps.
