UPS stopped by today and delivered my Indy 605ci rotating assembly.(Thanks Bob!) It's the street kit so it will come in at 10.4-1 compression with my heads. Should be pump gas friendly and help keep my rpms down at a semi-sane level with the roller cam I'm running. Should make a bit more torque than my 528 did. I hope my truck can handle it. Dave

Dude, you are seriously not right, why don't you put a 440 wedge in the truck and buy Dragula's Cuda and put the hemi in there.

People have been telling me I'm half a bubble off all my life so why change now. Besides, you see a Cuda you expect it to be fast. What do you think of when you see my truck, it's just another old farm truck.
Ted; The kit wasn't without some drama and hair pulling. 4 days after I ordered it I found out the crank was on intergalactic backorder. I called Callies and found out they had 10 cranks in inventory with BB Mopar main sizes, and 2.2 rod pin sizes, but with BB Chevy rod journel widths. I had them just subsitute the rods that fit the journel widths. Bob had to do a bit of arm twisting with Indy but it all worked out. I've got to give a big thanks to Bob George for all his help in the matter. Dave

Looks like it would fit nice in my 65 with some modifications and be a whole lot safer

OK, Dave, to each his own, I wish I had that kind of power in my old bracket Duster.

Dave 605 ci = traction problems. Duals and twin screw may be in order for the truck.

Kevin; I have no illusions about it hooking on the street, (the 528 would smoke the tires at 70mph). I'll give it a go though with some bigger meats on the back. At the strip I think the M/T 14x32.5 radial drag slicks will do the job. Dave

Yep, the Thermoquads are still on the tunnelram. They really work nice. Best of both worlds, economy and power, although with 605 inches I don't think the economy will be much to write home about. Dave

Me thinks the right foot controls the gas consumption I hope you don't die grinning There are somethings a man can never have to much of, HP is one of them

Cab, it's funny you mention that. You can ask any of my friends around here, I'm always telling them 'To much is not enough'.
For now though the motor isn't going to make any earth shattering figures, it's a bit head limited. It should move the peaks down a bit though so I won't be winding the wee out of it. I'm hoping it'll make a bit more torque. Dave

Dave let me know in advance, when you put it on the dyno, that way I'll know where the ground tremors are coming from

Larry, It's head limited, probably won't do more than 800hp. It should still be enough to get me in trouble. Spent the day stripping the short block and enlarging the notches in the block for rod clearance. Also have to degree the cam in and check rod to lobe clearance. Dave

Now you can blow the tires off at 100 mph

Good for you, Dave! WHY...follow the crowd? Individualism is what makes the car hobby interesting.
