To all you new Challenger owners, what have you run with yours? What is it(R/T, SRT-8), tranny, gear, wheels? What upgrades have you done and what order did you start upgrading? What were the best and moat useless upgrades? I bought a 2010 Challenger R/T. 6-speed, 3.73 gears, 18" wheels, bone stock. I am itching for National Trail to open April 1(okay, I realize once the rain stops and it dries out it will be probably the first Mopar event) so I can see how slow my ride is and then work at improving it. I won't even be adding a skip shift eliminator or shifter until after my first passes.

The ones I've seen are all over the map. Buddy has a stock R/T auto that runs 13.7. If you have a stick I suggest you go get lots of practice. You don't want to be that guy that runs a 15. I ran 14.06 in a 06 Magnum R/T AWD. I'd think w/ practice you can get down to 13.7's. hit it w/ a tune and you'l be around 13.2.

Cool. Thank you sir. 13.7 would be cool, and I plan on putting in quite a bit of practice time. From what I've read the 'matics are faster across the board.
I finally have something with a manual transmission, a v8, and two doors that isn't a truck, so I am gonna enjoy the hell out of it. I am enjoying the hell out of my large, overweight car.

I have a 2009 6-speed SRT. It went 13.23 @ 109.75 all stock except for a K&N air filter. That was not on the best weather day, and I left really easy because of the wheel hop. The 60 foot time was only 2.20. On a perfect weather day, with some sticky tires the car would easily be in the 12's.

Sounds like the times aren't as horrid as magazines/brand X drivers are claiming they are, and seems that simple bolt ons do a world of good. I would like to go with a set of 20's and swap to 3.91's(or 3.92's, whatever they put in them now) eventually.
I do like that my car is kinda stripped, though. Small wheels, cloth interior, low line stereo, no stripes. As close to a musclecar as you can get in a Challenger??
Hoss, what catback and CAI did you use?

the autos are aweful at the light. The DBW is a bieouch to figure out. I'd have to leave on the 2nd yellow in my magnum or I'd have a 1.0 light!

Is it an auto? 3.06 gear? I hear the Predator tuners are great. Not sure if anyone around here does custom tunes or not. Being a stones throw from Columbus, I'm assuming SOMEONE does.
Also, open for anyone to answer, you launch with Mr. Squiggley(traction control icon) on or off?

DiabloSport computer tuner is a good investment:

DiabloSport InTune
The Predator model is being discontinued, and the InTune model is easier to use with a laptop (USB drag and drop files, etc). Data log, view, and tune!

My understanding:
Auto trans got the 3.06 rear gear
Manual trans got 3.73 (18”), 3.91 (20”)
There might be an odd year/option, but still uses one of these ratios.

Remember the transmission gear ratios in the Auto vs Manual are completely different. Look at both 1st gear, and the overdrive gear:
Auto trans ratio : 1st 3.59, 2nd 2.19, 3rd 1.41, 4th 1.00, 5th 0.83, Rev 3.16
Manual trans : 1st 2.97, 2nd 2.10, 3rd x.xx, 4th x.xx, 5th 0.74, 6th 0.50

So an auto in 1st gear might not like a 3.91 rear gear...think tire spin.
For comparison, our old 727's have a 2.45 1st gear.

3.73 (18”), 3.91 (20”) with manual trans

That's how I understood it as well. Mine came with the 18" wheels and 3.73 gears. Never liked that gear, for some reason it always made me think Cheverolet... 3.91,s I always associated with MoPars. I found the 20's I like, but they also have them in 18" which wouldn't really necessitate a gear change. I don't mind the 18's on the front, they just don't fill the wheel well on the back.

Stick or 'matics? Sounds like plenty of potential in these cars once you learn to drive them.

I think you will be fine with the 3.73 and 20" wheels. Just buy a tire with a slightly lower profile, to match the overall tire diameter/circumference.

P245/45R20 = 245/25.4x.45x2= 8.68+20=28.68”
P235/55R18 = 235/25.4x.55x2= 10.18+18=28.18”

See if there is a
P255/35R20? 27.03"
P255/40R20? 28.03"

I have seen Nitto 555 Extreme P265/ZR50/18, (265/25.4x.50x2= 10.43 +18= 28.43")
