Been in this Barn since 1996 when it was painted. This is Bryan. He
has been coming to the races since he was just a little dude. He is going to use this car at some of the races this year.

I was going to make a Hemi clone out of it but I couldn't bring myself to chop the quarters up. So I've been collecting all the junk to put a 440 in it

The manifold John? I have no idea. This will be built for the Pure Stock Drags. I have no idea what to expect from this build the intake sucks and so does the exhaust. I am just going to try to keep it as light as I can and it is what it is

Tom, looks like you have some room in that building, maybe i can stick a couple in there??? LOL Anyways why don't you build the motor, dyno it, then send the intake and exhaust out to get extrude honed, re-dyno and let us know the increase on your dime!!!

I'll be watching........

I'm the CARETAKER of Weinstats '69 440 'cuda registry and have 104 of the 360 cars to date. 84 fastbacks/20 coupes. Always looking for new(REAL M-code) '69 440 'cudas to add to the registry so drop me a note if any are found or known. This isn't a publicly released registry. Thanks, Dave

Is that a 2899002, 2946729 manifold or a 3462017? Accurate used to make a manifold that takes the bend out of the bottom by using a B or C Body manifold. Here are a couple of pics of a real 68 GSS.

Grand Spaulding ordered 48 cars from Chrysler Seth why wouldn't they be? Not to be confused with the 6 factory drag cars that were meant for the Winter Nationals and the Cobra Jets

Jim, The manifolds are 68 383 units. This car won't be no show pony. I am gonna find out what one is worth, where it's value is supposed to be measured.

Tom I was under the impression that the cars were converted to 440s by Mr.Norm so I thought they were not legal for purestock.

Chrysler contracted Hurst-Campbell for the conversions. Basicly took the 383 out and put the 440 in. Grand Spaulding took delivery of complete cars. Mr.Norm only monkeied with the emblems. These cars are the rarest of all the "M codes"

Actually the cars were built on the assembly lines as 383 cars but the engines were never installed in them. They were sent as complete rolling cars to Hurst-Campbell.

I was always told Mr Norms did the eng swaps at his dealer on the 68 Dart 440. I know in 69 Mopar sent them to Hurst and they were built as 383 cars and Hurst put the 440's in and sent them back to Mopar so anyone could order one from any Dodge dealer. I had never heard that Mopar built the 68's as when ever I heard about them it seemed everyone said Mr Norms dealer did them in 68. Thats why I thought they may not be legal but if you are correct then they would be legal. Ron

69s were built on the line Ron. Dodge built like 640 440 Darts in 69.

I was always told Hurst put the 440's in the 69 Darts and were then sent back to the factory and sold thru the factory dealers. I even had a guy tell me the 69 Dart and Cuda 440 cars were not a factory car because he said Hurt did the eng in them. But I told him it did not matter who put the eng in because they went back to the factory and sold thru Mopar. Not trying to be smart but thats what I always heard. Now you got me wondering. I even have a mag with a 440 Dart that says Hurt put the eng in it in 69. Now I gotta find out more about them. Ron
