I sat down last night and made a list of the fittings I need to reroute my fuel line on the Dart. It came up to almost $190 before shipping , $75 of that is for the carb line kit. Wow! All this just to move the line from the inside of the frame rail in the engine bay to the outter fenderwell and going to a 8 AN from the regulator to the carb.

Welcome to the world of building race cars. The reason people wonder why the cost to build a race car is so high is because they NEVER built one...

ya they sure are. just imagine how much guys spend when useing them on the radiator and vacuum pumps. as soon as you throw in some 90's and 180's, it adds up really quick.

Jegs sells their house brand AN fittings that are slightly less expensive.

How do you feel the black hose will hold up after a few years of use? Stainless braid seems to last forever, at least on the out side.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

The Earls is supposed to last w/fuel,oil etc. and many I know using it says it rocks. Easy to cut w/a pvc cutter and no bloody fingers and less than 1/2 the weight..............guess we`ll see. It definately needs to be clear of excessive heat though and w/fenderwell headers, I just ran it along the frame rail in front of the engine to the reg. which now is mounted at the carb.

It is highway robbery. Some of the house options do not have all of fitting styles available. So far I have used, Earls, Summit, Jegs, and Fragola.

You could use steel lines and compression or flare fittings for 10% of the cost, but then it wouldn't be SHINYYYYY.

So far not a one of those brands is a true AN fitting. Check out genuine aircraft hardware for real AN fittings, not the knockoff stuff. Tim
