The plastic divider between the male terminals is pointless because both terminals are either grounded or not at the same time.

They are in common when grounded but they need to be isolated when the door is shut. Otherwise, the time delay lights illuminating the headlamp and ignition switches will come on every time the passenger door opens or the interior lamp switch on the panel dimmer comes on. Not a fatal error but just a fine detail.

Finally I solved map light problem, that was too weird for me.
It works like I thought it should.
Map light & switch are mounted on lower plastic dash trim (A/C) so these are not grounded, but there should be special ground strap that goes to the dash.
Earlier I tried to ground switch housing just to try if that change anything and it didn't work.
That was another problem caused by loose element in the switch. Bottom isolator plate with electrical connections was not tight, I needed to crimp switch housing slightly. Between housing and isolator there is small metal tab that grounds one of the connections to the housing, it of course needs to have firm contact with housing.
I repaired the switch, made that special ground strap out of copper sheetmetal and it works.
map light function:
Switch ON - map light is on permanently, with dome on and off, with ignition on and off - so is true map light
Switch OFF - map light turnes on with dome and is just floor light

Hi, seems like all questions are answered, as there is no reply for such a long time. This is the best documented thread I came across, thanks to all, who contributed. Many questions answered, where I was already sitting and thinking for a long time. Today I wanted to ask, where to put in the switch title light, which I got recently... This is also answered already, now I have to find that strange connector above the radio or in the strapped wires there. I have the headlight/key in buzzer, found the pink 3 pin connector for the glove box light (but only the middle pin is a connector) and thought I have all the wires, but maybe I'm missing the harness used for the maplight, the switch panel bulb AND the steering column title lamp, and the time delay relay too. Wow, this is an old thread back from a long slumber...  ...I see the map light dual circuit switch function was answered by that grounding strap...I knew the map light switch served double duty but forgot about the strap completing the circuit{thanks BartekP}... WalkAbout, it sounds like you're missing the A01 light package harness...It connects all those components together... Mods, any chance we can get this thread archived after it runs it's course ???

...I've used a few of the aftermarket jamb switches...Both the "concours" and the normal repops and haven't had any problems with either... And yes they are adjustable...When you initially install the switch you need to put a piece of tape on the door frame so you don't chip the paint any more than nessesary...Then close the door slowly so the switch will adjust to the gap....
