all of these shifter saw muncie or t10 shifters.

are these the same as the 833 shifters? Is it just a different mounting plate? what about shift linkage? can i re-use my current hurst shifter linkage or do i need to then buy the correct linkage for these shifters?

A833's need different mounting plates, and there are also body style specific rods as well (i.e. a-body rods)...I picked up my Mr. Gasket vertical gate from a fellow who used it a couple times in the 60's on his dart and hated it- 80 bucks shipped to my door complete with shifter, mounting plate, boot and trim ring, and shifter rods

Only thing that I did was make my own stop plate for the shifter since the model I found didn't have stops and I wanted them in there. Nothing some cardboard templates, steel plate, and a welder can't accomplish

i don't know if they're still available but imho the hurst super shifter III was one fine shifter

For an H-pattern shifter the Super Shifter III cant be beat but I prefer a Long shifter for racing

I am looking at the Hurst Super Street that is available new now. For a B body with no console. How far off is the mounting location compared to a Hurst comp plus? I am not very worried about modifying the floor pan but would love to save the carpet. Does anybody know on that one?

thanks
Josh

If you use the Bracket it mounts back and up. about 6 Inches back 2 up.
In the past I have mounted them in the stock location and used other rods. This way you get the reverse lock out and short throw. I have even used the long stock style shifter handle to keep from reaching under the dash for third gear.

I have an old Ram Rod in my Dart. Works great. Just have to watch on the down-shift from 3-2. I've gotten it crossed up between gears already. I usually just go down to third and then knock it into neutral when I would normally go to 2nd. But on the way up through, you can't beat it.
