How about this.

yups thats what mine looks like. and it looks like it does just hang there. what a riot!

And that time delay also is used for the seatbelt light in overhead console equipted cars...Keeps the seatbelt light on a few seconds after the doors are closed.. Does anyone have a pic of the actual headlight delay relay in Snoopy's original pic ???? I tried for the headlight delay and it did'nt work...I think mine is missing from that upper cowl location so I'll have to go back through my electrical parts and see if I forgot to install it {If I know what I'm looking for }....

This is the only picture of a headlight delay relay that I have. It is labeled as a 70, but I can't confirm. The parts book calls out a relay with a bracket for 71, but not 70. Did the 70 have a built in bracket?
If you know what this relay is for, let me know so I can rename the photo.

It turns out this is a Low Fuel Relay.

Isn't that the Gran Coupe low fuel relay that Snoopy just posted?

Snoopy,I think ebodyseast called it... That relay in the pic looks like the low fuel relay for the overhead console "low fuel" indicator..Here's a comparison pic... And a pic of the low fuel relay in it's position on the dash frame, passenger side next to the glovebox liner...Note the connector in this one...It sure looks like the same terminal configuration as your pic...

The NOS low fuel relays I've watched on e-bay went anywhere from 40-100+ bucks...If the numbers don't matter to you...RTE's site has a paragraph about them releasing a solid state low fuel relay unit{using your relay casing} in the near future.....Anyhow, sure enough, I had the opportunity to check my car{for the headlight delay relay} in the location as per Snoopy's FSM pic and it's not there... ...

You guys put some great stuff out to help out Joe, this is his thread so thanks Joe, also hate to hear about your daughter...best of luck & hope great news is right around the corner waiting for you guys...

I may have a unique harness & options + missing items so my problems may be confusing to others and to myslf. My car has the A01 option, but no headlamp relay, and no harness. Still like to see what one looks like. It must be secured by a bracket & screw by the looks of the pics posted. Like sceamindriver, I'm looking through my electrical parts to help anyone else here out too.

I thought I was ready to go with my harness, but now I have found a few missing items for the A01 package of options. There's no headlamp delay and no harness,

cucu might can get us a pic of his relay & harness & loction from the green bullet connector coming out of the harness all the way to the relay itself, and maybe we can help him find where the red wire for the BAT goes. Its already hooked up exactly where it needs to be after looking at Fig 26. -

screamindriver - track down your delay by tracing it from the red wire at the bottom of the fuse block & plugged into the BATT 'feed.' Just like how cucu had his connected.

I also found that the headlamp warning buzzer connector on my harness isn't plugged into anything, anyone got a pic of a headlamp warning buzzer. The connector is two reds and two blacks/yellow tracers and is just above the turn signal and ignition steering column connectors in the harness.

Headlight delay was not part of A01 option package.

L42 Option - will be on Broadcast sheet

Thanks Snoopy, L42 isn't listed on my BCS & that's why. So then a headlamp warning buzzer isn't a part of A01 either.
