Is the headliner glued to the sail boards? I only installed b-body ones before... so not sure if the challenger ones get covered and installed or how they are done in comparison. Also if anyone has a pic of the rear area and can post it, I'd appreciate it.

No sail boards on a E body. Go to Resto Ricks site, he has a great tech section.

My 73 Cuda has sail panels.

Also 70-1 Gran Coupes and SE's with overhead console headliners have "sail boards......sail boards started showing up on "standard" liners in 72

I dont recall taking any out, but theres a clip like it had one and I bought a pair for the car already. So do I need to use them or not? They aren't covered ones.

I've replaced headliners on 71 challengers and
74 challengers, none of them had em. I'm sorry, I've never owned a cuda.

Cuda had sailboards that were separately covered with headliner material, then clipped in.

On Challenger, some had a cardboard backer board in the sailpanel area... this one wasn't separately upholstered. It was installed before the headliner and I believe it's purpose was to help hold the shape in the corner. I've installed many Challenger headliners without it and had no problem.
I've never determined when this backer piece was used originally; I suspect it's a '70-only thing.

Thanks, it is a 70 and had a clip with some material left, so it did have them at one time.
