They are a little harder to find up here and I won't pay shipping(and duty) to get some here. I'm just throwing some ideas around. I'll probably just buy some wheels from Rocket racing.

Has anyone made a set of the older large diameter hubcaps (pre 67)fit on newer more common steel wheels? If so how? I thought of using some newer damaged dog dishes and epoxying them to the older hubcaps. Any ideas?
That's exactly what I did.
PC7 epoxy and put the little 9" cap inside the 10" cap so I could run 8" Wheel Vintiqes steelies on the back of my '63.

15X8 RamCharger rear,15X7 steel front,62 Plymouth 10" cap.Drilled and tapped three holes,oval head machine screws,cap snaps right on,perfectly centered.
This idea as well as the VW clip idea are very interesting and seem so simple that even a "caveman" like me could do it. What size machine screws did you use, and do you recall how you figured the exact drilling/tapping point?

I am watching this post with great interest because I am in the same boat. The welding of the tabs looks like a great idea. I assume that it could be done to wheel vintique wheels which can be purchased in different widths and backspacing. One of the advantages to the early dog dish caps (other than being period correct) is that they should clear the long rear wheel studs that I have.
Looks like I will have to stay with my prostars, I contacted Summit regarding the steelies available through Wheel Vintiques. I need 15X10 4 1/2"BS for the rear. They only offer 15X10 with a minimum of 5 1/2" backspace.

There was a guy in the Chicago area that made some adapters out of a thick plastic material. I think they were done on a CNC machine , good bit of waste. They didn't work well on the 3 tab wheels , but did work on the 4 tab later wheels. I didn't get much interest from the Mopar people in them and they were kinda costly. I think I may still have the guys number , PM me and I will check. Frank
