Mark: Where did you buy the shrinking disc? And the 71-72 body makes that day 2 slotted mag work like no other car!
Sheldon
I agree...here's the shot before I had the car painted...I just love the look, no matter how out-dated it may be.
Mark
No way man... keep it high. I love that look. I'm more ov a Vector guy that a slot guy though... maybe (real) Cragar SS if we're staying nostalgic.

Taking the front bumper and grill off,and it's looking like no evidence of previous accidents or damage on the front.I don't think it's ever been apart on this end, original paint, parts etc...nice to see. Mark

After removing the front lower valance( which has it 's share of dings) I noticed some markings that a few of the restores may find interesting or can explain. At this point it doesn't mean a lot to me, but maybe someone can shed some light.... notice the small white "X" on the bottom middle?

If you decide to remove side mouldings, satellite sebring emblems, lower rocker mouldings,,, i'll buy them,,, thanks mike
I'll keep that in mind, as I don't plan on putting the front to back side trim back on.There is no lower rocker moldings and I'll likely keep the emblems. Mark

Ok, it's time to get serious....took out the motor tonight, and after everything under the hood is stripped off...then to blast the engine compartment! Man there's tons of air conditioning junk on here!

Thanks Ron, PM me if you have any 71/72 parts left.
Here's the shrinking discs...a 5" and a 9". Trick is to Hammer/dolly metal, then heat up the high spots with the shrinking disc, and cool rapidly with mist of water and the heated metal is supposed to shrink back down to the level of the surrounding metal. So it's a slow process, but experts say with patience, there should be a need for very little filler. ...We'll see...
Mark
I plan to try one of the shrinking discs too. Check out this site. Lots of good tips and tricks. http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/index.php
