Dave has done it , i remember seeing the pictures of him pulling a head because people accused him of running a megablock.
Unless the engine is SEALED, and the seals are never broken, tech cert is only good for the one event.
John, did you see the pic of Terry's head laying on a table ??
Last year the L88 went pretty quick and I think that Dave did a quick tech that included a drive, stall speed, shocks springs, and a few other items
I guess the problem is that the tech results are not posted, so no one really knows the who what and whens........

I see a head laying on a table , I only know Tom in that picture and as said that was 6 or 7 years ago, the car is how many tenths faster NOW ???
Did it just get that much faster as the engine is getting more broken in ???
Did they change to a driver that is 300 lbs lighter ???
Is wind friction peeling layers of paint off to make the car lighter and slipperier ???
I'm pretty sure the same goes for Stanton, a car is only certified for that event?
I remember all the drama the year I went, Terry pulled his cam, Jimmy running as fast as he did and trying to claim his cert from the year before, didn't his car break and never had a clean pass, was still good after he fixed whatever broke with no recert ?

That Vette sounds as stock as a Top Fuel dragster in my eyes.
I'm certainly not claiming that the Corvette is legal, but the factory L88 cam is very healthy.
Yes it is and its actually too healthy. It was hinted by some that Terry was running a smaller cam, the factory cam is too big, so he pulled the cam out in front of everyone right there at the track and handed it to the powers that be to have it checked.

Funny, I was there all weekend and I don't remember terry refusing any tech,in fact we pulled the valve covers to dis- spell the rumor of lightwieght valve train components. Brother Dave has been all over this car, i would think if he found something he would say.Other Vettes have been in the 11.30's Are they also cheating? If you don't like the L 88's now you are going to be real unhappy in the near future
Maybe in the near future, the vehicle combinations that the chevy crowd doesn't like will be legalized.........NAH........can't have that.

Did you type that with a straight face?
I don't have a problem with the L88. I almost bought a 69 Camaro that had an L88 in it back in the early 80's, I'd probably been a chevy reconvert if I had.

bet you wish you had brought it
i have no dog in this fight and far as i'm concerned i'd give an organ for any one of the cars these guys are running.
as for the brand wars i could care less and anyone that thinks those HP BB chevys don't have some sack are sorely mistaken. just look at the parts that were in them, they were some stout packages like them or not
