Fellas -

Have a follow up question - I did strip the engine compartment with chemical stripper from an aerosol can. Now I need to get some metal prep b/c I'm starting to get a bit of rust. Prefer to use metal prep instead of primer because I need to do some welding - patch up holes in the firewall.

Do I need to clean the metal prior to using the metal prep? Just want to ensure that the stripper is all gone and doesn't harm the primer/paint when I lay it down. Will also have to do a bit of blasting here and there to get the paint out of nooks and crannies.

FYI - I'm using Picklex 20 metal prep; think it's similar to Eastwood metal wash and other like products.

Thanks,

Scott

Another follow up question - the fenders are not original to the car and both do have some mud in them. Figure I'll just take these down to bare metal. I'm assuming that this won't be an issue with some areas down to bare metal and others not.

Thanks

Scott

Time for a rotissierie...

Have been real close to buying or building one in the past few years. When I tackle the resto on my Big Bad Green 390/4 sp 69 AMX, I'll definitely need one.

Thanks

Scott

Here's Big Bad Blue. I LOVE the 70 AMX's, & also the '71's. Closest I've ever come is owning a 35,000 mile '73 Javelin 360 back in the mid-80's.
