UUmmmm... like we were saying----Run them, have fun, melt tires.
Too much science , not enough rubber burning here.
And that opinion is based on experience.

I hear ya' ... ole double d has been GRUMPY lately...

... but I would suggest HOOKING instead of melting ...

How's the oil pressure once the rod has heated up to operating temp? Any loss?

I'm under the impression that aluminum expands at eight time the rate of steel Take a aluminum rod with a bearing torque in place and measure the I.D. of the bearing at room temperature. Take that same rod and stick it in a oven and heat it up to 180F for ten to twenty minutes and then remeasure the ID of the bearing. That should give you a idea how much oil clearances change on that rod and bearing

I always heard that deceleration was hard on alum rods.

and whats the point, is a good steel rod going to slow your street car down ?

Challenger451 that is just wishful thinking. Aluminum has no fatigue strength or limit. Steel does, and even that idea is changing.

I stand corrected....The fatigue strength rating for aluminum (~14000psi) is based on 500million cycles. That's still almost 1200 hours at 7000rpm by my math. The number of cycles to failure will increase as the stress goes down away from the fatigue strength rating but technically, they should fail eventually. OK, enough BS theory. Bottom line....RUN EM!!
