I always heard that deceleration was hard on alum rods.
and whats the point, is a good steel rod going to slow your street car down ?

I stand corrected....The fatigue strength rating for aluminum (~14000psi) is based on 500million cycles. That's still almost 1200 hours at 7000rpm by my math. The number of cycles to failure will increase as the stress goes down away from the fatigue strength rating but technically, they should fail eventually. OK, enough BS theory. Bottom line....RUN EM!!
