I'm 99% sure the basic crank is NOT a USA-sourced part. However, I don't know if the final machining is done here or overseas. Regardless, they do have a good reputation.

I haven't talked to them about it ,but I remember when they first came out they made a big deal about it being made in the USA. Their web site still says made in USA on the dragon slayer series.I guess a quick phone call will get you the answer you need. Callies are really good with their Tech line and always very helpful.

over the years we've sold a lot of the dragonslayer cranks. i think there's always been some confusion as the where the forgings come from. i don't think they've ever used chinese forgings. the most important thing to know is that Callies and quality are one and the same. we've never had a complaint on any of their products we've sold.
we've getting ready to do a super sale on all of the callies and callies/compstar products.

I sure wish they would tool up the Compstar Cranks for us Mopar guys.....They're only producing the 3rd gen hemi stuff last I knew....

The Compstar stuff is sweet even if the forgings are coming from China

the only way that will happen is if americans will go back t oworking for 5 dollars a week so the CEO's can still bring home their 25 million dollar salaries ...

Let us know how that goes for you.

Last I heard most bearings aren't American made any more either.

Call and ask them, I did. They told me THAT crank is forged and machined here.
Either they are really honest or THAT crank is always made here.

Pleasant people to deal with in any case.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

This is an issue I bump against too..........I will buy American at every opportunity.
I have no problem with a manufacturer following their business and opening over seas branches , factories and the like.
But using off shore labor to increase profits , eliminate quality and destroy American manufacturing capabilities is where I draw the line.
Autolite spark plugs were my last " I'll never give them another dime of mine " product.
Their market is here , and I have to assume that they have had years of profitability and success.
So why move manufacturing to China ?
Their excellence in metallurgy ?
Or their 40.00 a week labor costs ?
There are some decent parts made over there.
Not many.
But I can't get past my principals.
Some will argue that this is the way things are , so get used to it.
I would argue that a change for the worse is worth re-considering.
Callies is a pretty good value for what you get in their Dragonslayer line.
And worth the extra coins in my opinion.

When we bought our Dragonslayer I was told that it, the Magnum and the XL were the all the same forging. Just more machine work went in to each one to lighten them. I had the understanding that we could send them our Dragonslayer and they would make a magnum or an XL out of it.......Bob P.

And am now 99% sure I could be wrong about my original statement above.

I think I was confusing Dragon Slayer cranks w/ some other product.
