And the good news is it wasn't from the car but the time slips

I'm sure you're probably all sick of reading about it but I ran another new best since my last post. That makes a total of 4 new best runs in one weekend.

My last new best was a 9.953@132.66mph. Unfortunately it came during first round toady and put me into the buy backs.

I might have ran another but in the buy back round I get paired with a little (fwd style) Charger dialed 10.15. Only .002 difference on the tree and I get him about the 1/8th Got him about my door and blipped the throttle twice about 800'. Next thing I know he's ripping by me and he runs a 10.175@132.17

Talk about a top end charge

And with that, my season came to an end. At least I did put a 9 sec dial on the car once

Well that's great Bill! Great time for a big old boat (I used to have a 73).

I ran a much slower car once, caught him at the 1/8th, clicked it into neutral at the 1000 foot mark but I guess he turned on the nitrous bottle by then. Threw it back in high and just barely got the stripe and the win light.

To say I had a good time would be an understatment.

The car ran great, I didn't do a terrible job of driving it, got to chat with a bunch of old freinds I havn't seen in a while, and got to meet a bunch of new members.

Yeah I wish I would have done my job better but hey, I had a blast

Congrats on making the new best and no carnage. My buddy with the gold charger and I stopped by your pit spot a couple times but couldn't catch you when you were there.

Good to hear you got in the nines! You are now in the best situation for a bracket car, IMHO. As fast as you can go without the monkey suit! A couple of pounds of ballast and you can run 10.00 all day!
Think that guy on the last pass was playing with nitrous or a throttle stop?

For the 20 minutes every 10 years that they run, those old turbododges are fearsome indeed.

Congrats on hitting the 9s.

Out of money, fuel and vac time by the time the Halloween classic comes around.

I don't think it was a FWD turbo car. It looked like a FWD converted to RWD and a V8.

IIRC

Congrats Bill...it was great meeting you. I saw one of your runs and was all set to record it but my camcorder ran out of juice right as you pulled into the burnout box.

Next year I'm putting my request in early for green wristbands.

That sucks. I would have loved to see that.

I meant to have someone record one of my runs but with everything going on and all the excitement over how my car was running we just plum forgot.

It was definitely not a FWD. I had him in 3rd rd of pro. And he ran that same 10.17 on the 10.15. Unfortunately for me, I ran 11.350 on my 11.36 dial.

I think it was about 132 also. Yes I was in it the whole way, bad thing was, car ran a 36 the past 4 runs in a row, so I thought I was good to stay in it, even though I couldnt see him until the finish line, and I crossed first by .04. I guess I need more seat time.

Well, what ever he's got however it's set up is working for him.

Unless he's running a T stop.

Then he's just plain cheating.

I had him in the final, Bill. He went 134.93. I caught him pretty fast so I made sure I stayed in it 'just in case' he had a surprise top end charge, which he did, but I was ready. Nice guy, it's actually his dad's ride that he was using for the weekend, I think he likes it.

Bill......Congrats on your new best
Was a PERFECT weekend for racing and going fast. I was going to bring the Charger out but the radiator started seeping so it just wasn't in the cards for me to go this year I guess

Looks like I'll have to work on the Barracuda over the winter so I can make some laps in it and see what it will actually run in the full 1/4 without being on the brakes

There's a LONG list of upgrades to do
1) couple more chassis bars
2) fab my own frame connectors
3) mini tub
4) DANA
5) fix toe pattern
6) RMS upper arms & strut rods

to name a few
