I should also mention the track is 2400ft. Plus air, so around 3000-4000ft usually.

Yup, I am hoping it will help hold the stock diff together. It will likely leave like a dump truck.

Not sure, I will ask around today and see. I lost my power cord for my camera.

Here is my best pass with the old combo last year. W2 434ci. Tight 3000 nitrous B&M converter, with the 3.23 gear. 1.73 sixty foot IIRC

Other than the rear-end that is a nice combo. Best of luck and I'll guess it'll run 132mph the first time out 'uncorked'.

No time, that stock cone diff will be obliterated.

OK, if it stays together I'm going to guess 10.23/130ish

Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada.

http://www.mhdra.com/

Looking at their schedule, this weekend is Jet cars.... So, if I run after one of those, good chance the car will go into the wall. I hate racing on Jet car days...

Oh, thanks a lot eh. If it breaks, I'm blamin' you. Haha.

We are on the road now after a few snags. About an hour from the track. Had a nail in the front tire and every tire shop in town was busy of course. Before I loaded the car I took it out for a boot, and well, we have a severe traction problem, not a bad thing though, should hook fine at the track!

Then when I was loading the car, the header collector on the new headers caught the trailer and pulled a slip tube out. Murphy's law eh? So, once we get to the track we will have to pop it back in the collector. So, I'm not sure I will get a run in tonight or not, but if not, that's fine, we are planning on racing all weekend, or until the diff goes now that Guitar Jones ginks'd it. Haha

I think your on to something there. The car left like a dump truck last year, so this time out will probably similar. I hope the 3.23's are a diff saver.

Tonight we didn't get to run yet, but the header is all back together. We took the exhaust off now so it will be ran un corked tomorrow. Stupid thing doesn't sound like a street car anymore though.

Well, time trials should start soon here.

Some new updates, the air is around 5000ft. I finally got to weigh the car, and it's lighter than I thought. 3130lbs with out me, 3330 with me. The car is all steel, engine is cast iron, and the bumpers are fiberglass now. The heater is gone, as well as power steering, power brakes and sway bar. also, the exhaust is sitting on the trailer.

Sorry for the wrong weight originally, but that was my best guess since the last time I weighed it.

Hit the limiter like a rookie both both shifts. And it is HOT out here haha.

60-----1.61
330----4.518
660----6.925 @ 102.52
990---8.961
1320---10.801 @ 126.45

I am pretty happy with it so far. Could use a high gear retard.

Yeah not bad, one of the header tubes is out of the collector on the header that got caught on the trailer. Also, high gear is mushy, and on the 2-3 shift, it jumps 500rpm and then drops back down.

I was racing a 68 superbee running 10.80's, he tree'd me. We were really close. .040 margin of victory. On the 2-3 shift I probably lost 2 feet on him

Also, I think the 60' time is coming from the converter, it does have a big crank, but the peak torque is still up there, around 6000rpm.

Well SO FAR I guessed the ET BUT I'm suprized it
doesnt MPH higher with that gear..... good ET

I have a theory on the MPH. This converter is super loose. It is at 6000 right out of the hole. I am clicking into high gear at about 900ft. It's slipping way too much up to because I can't get any rpm up top.

I Had a close call today... The air started getting better. I lost first round, so I was running the buy back round. The car ran a 10.76 on a 10.75 dial. Then a 10.75 on a 10.75. Then a 10.70 on a 10.70. That got me to the final. I pulled into the burn out box, and pressed really hard on the brake pedal. I heard a ping, and the pedal hit the floor. Lost the codder pin and the brake pin popped out.

So, I lost the round, which was a shame because the other guy broke out, but I am glad it happened in the burn out box and not the top end of the track.

So, best time was a 10.70 @ 127mph.AND, it ran a 1.55 60 foot haha. I think that last run would have been a 10.6x but what do you do eh?

I will make more runs tomorrow as long as high gear holds up

You are probably right on the slippage in the conv...
just doesnt get much time locked up... nice job...
yeah, lucky that pedal quit in the box(but then again
you probably wouldnt have been pressing that hard
on top end)

Not sure on exact rpm at the stripe, but assuming 6000rpm, and 127mph, that's 18%. Might have to do some gears, axles, and a spool.

Today I was a first round loser. Red lit with a -.017 and ran a 10.75 on a 10.75 dial. Earlier in the day the car ran a 10.68 @ 128 mph with a slight bog out of the hole since the car was a little on the cold side. About 150 degrees. It seems to like 190 degrees.

I will post pics and hopefully some video soon. With stock suspension and shocks, and those gears, it leaves alright!

Thanks Guys!

I should have some video later this week hopefully. But for now, here are some pictures!

Best run. Not best 60' though...

In the staging lanes. The blue Olds is one of our customers. Stroker Big Block Olds. And yes, that is a 5" Six pack scoop on it.

Thanks Mike!

Fronts are 28 tall rears are 27 tall. Rears are cooked now, they didn't dead hook once sunday. I will be going to a 26 x 8.5 for the next time out. I'm going to strech those little bike tires on to my 10" rear wheels.

The fronts are Centerline Rev's. I have matching rears, but I ordered them with a different diff in mind. So, I found the rears with tires on a local forum with the right back space. The rears are black faced Weld Racing Weld Stars.

The Centerline Rev's will probably go on my 1967 Valiant I am building.

Is the reason your running short rear tires is because of your 3.23's??

Kind of... I prefer to run a 26" tire with these gears. The 27" X 10.5 ET Streets that are currently on the car came with the rear wheels when I bought them.

I have run as big as a 29.5 X 10.5 on the car before the sliders, with 5.13 gears. Here is a picture for comparison... I know I know, the little tires look goofy. Funny to see the looks on people's faces when that wide old Aspen dead hooks on 8.5's

HAHAHA Thanks

I had to use another 150 shot of juice to make it leave like that on top of the 416 stroker that powers it

Ah, yes, why stop at 150 shot? What are your 60's like?

My best 60 with the juice was 1.37 on 275 radials

on the motor with the eddy heads 1.56

I have switched the top end to all indy stuff but have yet to run it

2 reasons I stopped at 150 shot was stock block and no lic or chassis cert went 9.88 at 136 cars only legal to 10.0

Right on! Is the front suspension stock? What did you do for a shock? I can't find any. My suspension is all stock with an added clamped leaf on the front of the leaf

Good to know Caltrac has the F body front shock out now. Might have to buy me some!
