Does anyone have the factory diagram or other supportive data showing the details of an original V24 Hood blackout pattern/layout? There seems to be a wide variety of examples out there but few have original paint to use as reference. The details around the drip rail area are the most elusive so far.

I wish I had something from the factory! I have a few pics i've collected over the years from survivor or orginal paint/rust.

Not original this is a restored car but the placement is correct.

Are you going to use that treatment on your Duster when you paint it?

I'm seriously considering it Steve. It's not original of course but since the car is missing it's original drive train I was thinking that taking a few option "liberties" wouldn't hurt it any, I'm still on the fence right now.

The V24 option does add a lot of paint work to the car, and while certainly not an easy reversal (upper door frames, hood, fenders, cowl, doors, and roof paint, etc.) wouldn't be all that bad if I ever wanted to go back. I was even thinking of having a custom overlay done like a car wrap instead of actual paint....Be a tricky one for sure.

I have since found some original paint shots of a real V24 car, this car has the exact same bright moulding options as my car, notice the rocker blackout? That's only seen on cars with the optional rocker mouldings.

*Does the blackout run up the C-pillar, over the roof, then down the A-pillar to the hood or does it stop near the top of the roof above the A-pillar? These are the smaller details that currently elude me.

Yes Scott the black pretty much makes an entire loop. My black quickly was repainted by me several years ago but here is original oragisol (spelling)after remaving the weather stripping

my car also is black inside rear jams, not sure if all blk interior cars got this and my car also came with wide rocker moldings and definatly is black below them, also upper interior front/rear door panels are a satin black, not gloss at all.

This is one of the nicest survivor around for a v24 car. Very very clean!

Note the vinyl-top cowl moldings on that red survivor car. I wonder if those were on all V24 cars, or after some goof-ups with masking showed up on early ones? That must've been some fast masking around the windows on the assy line!

Leaving room for exceptions I would agree that they all had them, every original I've seen in the past had them.

Some good pics you guys, especially the dissasembled Sassy Grass car, any other angles like those would be great!
