I was looking for a spare analog 6AL to take along on Drag Week next week, so about two weeks ago I searched for a good used or new spare. Not much in the good used department was available but there were some "new" ones listed on e-bay. Stated location was Texas, and the seller had several listed, so I figure somebody got some surplus units and was peddling them. Of course Jeg's and Summit are out of stock. SO, I buy one ($152 plus shipping). My first hint of trouble is when I get a shipping drop off notice from DHL on Monday, but the origin point is HONG KONG, which is NOT in Texas in case anyone is geographically challenged). I think, crap,what's going on? Well, the next day they left the box. Sureenough it is from Hong Kong and the MSD is inside. I've got to say, had my antenna not already been up due to the shipping, I might not have noticed, the copy and packaging are REALLY good, but there is a give away with the serial number (same on the picture on the cover as on the unit, Wang didn't think to change it from the art they pilfered to make the box. I contacted MSD. It's fake. They have other reports of this happening. I opened an e-bay resolution case and I hope to get my money back, we'll see. Call Bill at Chicago Connection. He usually keeps one in stock and will UPS. 773-229-0655 I've gotten 2 MP MSD boxes from him and they were the same price as Summit wanted for the regular MSD box.
