It's Saturday.
It's also pouring outside. I really wanted to make the test drive on a dry day, so I could see if I'm trailing any fluids, plus I want to have the hood off, so we can see if and when the cooling fan kicks on automatically, or if anything is smoking in the engine compartment, we can spot it immediately.

Thanks, guys. We bled the power steering and hydroboost this afternoon, but I've been told by several sources that it will take a little time to work out all of the air bubbles from the power steering and hydroboost. I discovered several brake line fittings that needed tightening. I might have to do some more bleeding on the brakes, because the pedal feels soft to me. I'll work on that during the week.

I can see the local news headlines now: DAVE TAKES HIS NEW JEEP FOR ITS FIRST TEST DRIVE.....FILM AT ELEVEN."My buddy and I took her for about a 5 minute ride. My initial observations: - nothing broke, fell off, overheated, or leaked - the trans shifts into every gear - for the first time, the thermostatically controlled electric cooling fan kicked on by itself, within 5 degrees of where I set it. - This thing definitely does NOT have sports car-like handling around the turns! - The GPS speedo did not work at all. Will need to diagnose - the pitman TRE beat up the paint on my tie rod. The new pitman arm is "supposed" to arrive today, but USPS is delivering it, so who knows when I'll get it. I need some time to edit the video, so look for it sometime tonight.

Awesome. The Jeeps looks great. I know the feeling of finally driving a project for the first time.
What brand GPS Speedo? I have Speedhut and it works great.
Autometer. When I start it up, it says that its "Acquiring Signal." My GPS antenna is buried under my dash, could that be the problem?
yes, the antenna needs line of sight to the satellites. Just like satellite radio. you need to mount it atop the dash by the windshield.
