Finally a HUSKER again
After all the headaches with the B1Ba heads I had, the valve train issues, the rocker clearance, and the multiple PUSHROD issues, building a stroker like mine, which runs great, and fine with the Indybrock heads now, I would NEVER build another engine without very off the shelf parts again.

So my next build for my Demon is going to be a very street friendly 340. Nothing special, no custom pistons, no custom solid roller cam, no clearanceing of the block, no main girdle to clearance, no custom oiling system, no pain in the azz carb to tune, just a nice 340 that will be ther efor a long time.

The charger is getting a very mild 440 build, and thats it.

I kinda went over the top on the 408, and its street manners suck. Its a total blast, and great to drive, just dosnt like the heat, dosnt like the "pump" gas around me, and dosnt like to hook up...LOL,,,.

So Im thinkin whe it comes time to freshen the 408, Ill do that, and sell it in favor of a milder engine.

Kasey

Engine for my Rampage... 340 block bored to 4.070,
4" forged crank for 416CI,turned down to chevy for a 6.125 rod,
Diamond dish pistons, W-5 heads for a 10.9 compression,
solid roller cam 250/260 .625/.635 on a 106 LSA, TD
rockers with push rod oiling, M1 intake with a 850 DP
or a 1050 dom, custom headers..... most everything on
this build is stuff I had laying around... basically
I had to order just the pistons so it would be a pump
gas engine

400/470,using the Stealth heads off of my current 440,and a 590 Mopar cam.But I also may not do it as the 440 I have now runs great on pump swill and runs 11's all day long.

Heck I have almost enough stuff to build a 395c
W-2 but I think I would be short on the cam... and
pistons if I want that pump gas friendly... got plenty
of race pistons

Just putting the finishing touches to my edelbrock headed low deck 512 stroker for my street car. The heads were ported by Dwayne Porter and the cam is a custom Scotty Brown mechanical. It should be done in the next couple of weeks. Next on the agenda is a 588 or 604 aluminum blocked wedge for my Demon. Heads will be either Indy 572-13 or B1 - PSO's. This one will be in the works for a LONG TIME. Have the block so the foundation is there. The rest will come as the funds allow.

I may have to change my handle when all is done!!!

Thanx 451 Guy

After I lost the head off of an intake valve on my last motor I am riencarnating it. Its a 360 that will have KB107s, SDSS repaired the heads did his valve job and put 2.05 intakes in. Scat I-beam rods, and I don't have the cam specs handy. After that is running I have an eagle 4" forged crank and a .020 over 340 block to start a stroker with.

I just finished and installed my 520 in my dart a couple of hrs ago. It is cooling down now. RB short block pryor built by best machine. Now with .060 shave eddy rpm 84 cc heads. 701 lift comp cam zero deck with diamond pistons. I removed the low tension rings.

Now I have my rb zero deck 512 on the stand. K1 crank and rods, 440-1 heads. After that a 70 318 going with a 4 inch stroke just for fun. Then going to freshen up my 71 /6 setting on the floor. 9,5 to 1 compression, bigger cam ported head and 4 bbl intake

Actually, mine is more of a "pellet" build. Pretty much a stock 360 ( original E58 motor out of my 79 300 ) that will be going in to my wifes 79 300. TRW H405P-30 pistons should net me around 9:1 with some 67 CC 915 casting heads ( cut about .0020" and mild bowl work. Will go with a Hughes HEH1523AL Hyd. cam, 1.6 roller rockers, stock cast iron intake and modified TQ. Gotta be all original looking up top. Should make her ride a little more fun a still be very user friendly.

I'm planning a 470ish stroker with a pair of ported Max Wedge iron heads. 13 or so to 1 compression, E85 and a roller. Put it in a 75 Dodge 4X4 truck.

Before anyone says I should use aluminium such and such heads, the class I pull in requires Iron Factory block and heads.

funny kasey very funny. I am in the same boat just not as deep as you are. the 340 in my duster when we did it 10+ years ago I was building it/trying to build it for strip/street duty. maxed out credit cards that we thanks to the wife got paid off about 7 years ago btw. Anyway I wanted a fast nasty loud car that I could drive on the street and people would go wow. I remember driving buy a guy and seeing him say "Healthy" I wanted that. Well things went down the hill on the 340 pulled it out and put the motor my brother bought for his car (Lil Red 360 motor) Nothing special lower compression. Hooked to my 727 tranny that has a higher stall and rear end with 4.56's and the best the car did was 16's on the track like 4 or 5 years ago. Was bummed seeing that but figured the odd ball combo explains that. Well now with kids I want to get the car running and back together(hasn't seen light of day since last years mopar show and that was 1st time in 2 years it seen light I think) and beable to jump in it and go get an ice cream cone and not worry about if or what will happen to it. Just beable to drive it and enjoy it. kinda sounds like what you are thinking.

corey

I have a low budget 360 I am putting together. It has Speed Pro Hypertec pistons, factory rods and crank, ported 587 castings, will run a dual plane with a 950 and a solid cam. Should work out alright until I finish off my P7 engine. Am toying with the idea of a bone stock 318 to go into the car for now, I have a baby on the way!

I have two engines I am doing this year.....Both are more of a rebuild, and both need new blocks. The first is my stroker W2 motor is getting turned into a pump gas monster, and the other is to rebuild my hemi with a new hemi block and switch to push rod oiling.

Motor is out, heads are flowed and CC'd, intake and headers have been redone, and pistons will be ordered soon. We already have a couple of blocks, so now I just need to pick rings.

Motor is out, pars are all over the garage, just need a new block. Sold the vintage block, need a new block, and new push rods & lifters....

I just want to get my new Indy EZ headed 493 to the track real soon. I am using a Dwayne Porter speced flat tappet cam that is nitrided and I use the EDM lifters. It is 264 & 270 at .050 with around .630 lift with 1.6 rockers. Cant wait to get some passes on it and do some tuning. Ron

If we sell our 640 b1-TS engine after this pulling season we plan on starting a 640-650ci 5 inch Hemi build. Or buy one used and go through it ourselves for next season.

My next motor for the race car will be R3 W9's 4" crank. I have those parts. not sure on CI's yet or cam. I want it to run 10.0's and live 600 runs. Just finished putting a used 360 in the white 69 Dart for a driver. washed 5 yrs of garage dust off it for the first time 2 weeks ago. I was nice to an AC car in 105* heat. Jim

My next one will be a big inch pump gas wedge with victor heads. Or I will turn my current 499 into a pump gas but have to get some more power out of it because it cant slow down at all!

Got some more parts to sell for pennies on the dollar of what they cost to start with. Then I am going to purchase the block and get going on at least 439 CID P7 all aluminum engine. It will be capable of running on pump gas. Hopefully an F4 procharger feeding two 140mm turbos. Then if we have any areas that we lack power there will be three fogger nitrous systems. The engine will run on anything from water to alcohol to gas to deisel. Bruno Liberty extreme tranny. Gonna set records for an all steel street car in drag racing and the salt flats. Look for the U-tube videos cause I am going to initiate the largest police chase while I am at it. A new TV show will be coming out "Wild Police Chases" "The one that got away". They will never find me because this is sure to self destruct in a very explosive finally.

Hurry up and check out page 4 of the race parts for sale ads I need a lot of money as you should be realizing by now.

I'm hoping to finally get all the machine work done to put my stock stroke 440 together...
*politically incorrect "Vector" heads MW ported and assembled by MCH using good parts
*outdated McCandless grind solid cam
*Eddy MW Super Victor & Dominator
*TTI step headers
