like John said, its an early holley

that would be a holley 6210 model 4165

650cfm spredbore manual douple pumper

4160 is a squarebore carb

i have a 6210/4165 on the shelf and it has the chevy throttle lever and will use that adaptor you posted to hook up the stock TP linkage.

not sure how it will bolt to the early holley if it will at all,i dont see how

then its not gonna have the lower hole for the lokar cable, only puts the stock mopar throttle stud in the right spot for the throttle cable and linkage

looking at your pic,i am thinking that its an early holley with the mopar throttle lever.

looks like the stock throttle cable and TP linkage would hook right up to it.

it does not have the lower part of the arm to bolt the adaptor on with the 2 bolts which only leaves the hole for the throttle stud.

and how do you like wrenching it onto the intake, gotta work all 4 nuts on the studs at the same time..no?

another option, you could use a full manual valvebody in the tranz to delete haveing the linkage.

get another carb with the biger lever on it

if you can get a junk carb, you can grind the end of shaft to remove the lever from it

grind your carb shaft end to remove the lever

install the new lever and tac weld it back on at the end of the shaft

I have done this to a few early chevy q-jets to put the mopar throttle lever from a mid 80s Q-jet

that way it bolted right on the mid 80s doge truck with the stock 4-v linkage..but had a early non emission q-jet(late 60s to early 70s chevy q-jet are the best ones)

do you want a carter/edelbrock to go on it? or do you want to stay with holley?

after looking I have a 650 carter on the shelf with those 2 holleys also

if you used one of those,it might be able to go with stock linkage fairly ez...

scratch,

thanks for the ideas and offer, but i already sank enough money into what was supposed to be a simple project to get my feet wet with engine work. i'm so frustrated right now with this...

i bought an aftermarket high rise thorttle cable bracket for like $65, $35 for a rebuild kit, this lokar cable for another $70 and the damn thing still wont be at %100.

should i just cut my losses and look for a vintage 340 throttle/kickdown bracket and linkage?
