EASY MONEY! Just do a bit of trimming...

Also, Instead of making brackets, I just used electric fan mounting zip ties and drilled 4 small holes in each corner and mounted to the radiator!

So how many people have done some major trimming on these?

Am i wasting my time trying to make this fan fit?

I will sell it before i hack it all up and it dont work.

"Am i wasting my time trying to make this fan fit?"

How do you think you will be wasting your time? I don't see what the big deal is. If you don't want to trim it, sell it and try to find one that will fit exactly. In my case, and several others, it fit with very little modification.

With hotrodding, lots of things don't work without some sort of modifications!

You are exactly correct. I dont have a racing alluminum radiator.

I think that if i hack this thing up, it may not fit or function properly.

I am really thinking about selling this.

If someone needs 1 and the extra wireing pig tail let me know.

you can sell it if you want... you can get some alum
and bend up your own shroud and attach a fan, its
pretty easy
EDIT

Mike i got the pigtail at napa.

My radiator had a electric fan on it.

It did not have a shroud, and was mounted with alluminum.

That fan did not seem to do the trick.

Oh
I would have to get photos but I installed my HHR fan from the front side. It is sitting in the rad opening and against the front side of the rad. I flipped the wires around so it's a pusher instead and seems to work. It works Great at the track for cooling down between rounds. I street drive some but this would have been the first full year till we dropped a valve so the car is sitting.
I made a couple metal strips and secured the HHR fan to the upper and lower rad support. I did have to modify the brace that supports the grill though. You can take out the rad and the fan will stay there.
This is on my 69 RR and also on my 69 satellite race car.
I will see about getting some photos for you this weekend.
Send me a PM with your e-mail address.
David

hemidart---

just start making brackets and do some trimming of the plastic.

Thats what I had to do.

If it doesnt fit --maybe think about a summit or griffin rad ?

Last time I raced it was 97 degrees with 1,000,000 % humidity ........car never got above 190. Love my HHR fan

I ended up selling mine, it would not fit infront of the pullies.

But an engineer friend of mine drew up a plan to use a whole saw.

He was going to cut 1 whole on top and bottom by the hoses.

That would have let the fan sit totally flat.

And it would not destroy the shroud or fan in the process.

You can also trim the tabs on each side.

OR you can add some alluminum bar to widen the tabs if need be.

Hope you are able to make yours work!!
