After having a pb last monthe with just some 'check how we've fixed the gearbox' passes I've upped the pb again. This weekend I got my 1st 8sec run, 8.98 @ 150mph! Noticed some valvefloat staring at 6700rpm (just before finish) so will change out valvesprings and see if we can up the rpm's a little bit more next month... 8,8's might be around the corner http://youtu.be/bNiTXMooYOsJust the ordinary stickshifted pumpgas Hemi

Thanks guys & gall!
Yeah I know the hood need some extra fasteners. Although my last car had it even worse this is a raceweight hood so have to add some. Never expected these ET's otherwise would have done it during the build.
Had wayyyy to much rain the whole weekend. Glad most felt at night but the grass doesn't improve from it so was a bit muddy. If needed we're allowed to park at the end of the track and drive back after the class is done but mine doesn't mind driving back.
This run I lauched at 5600rpm and shifted around 6400rpm's but it has a short 1st gear so might be the reason of the short shift sound. With new valvesprings the rpm's will be upped some, around 66-6800rpm shiftpoints.
It's a GForce 4-speed with a adj. dual disc clutch setup from Rob at Advanced Clutches. If you need anything clutch related give him a ring.

Awesome videeo and Challenger, dude. There are only a handful of people in the world that can say they've driven a stick shift Challenger in the 8's. Time to update your signature!

Don't think so Mick... only time it was at the Pod it was still Duncan Watts his racer, already a couple of years ago now. Same model but everything else was different back then, colors, driveline etc. Still hoping to run at the Pod someday instead of supporting my buddy with his Superbird. Here's a launch pic of that 8sec run.

Mick, yeah it "was" his triple kind of blue challenger. Modiefied most of it to my liking since then, add about 100lbs I guess but feels more like a oem car now with moldings, dash etc., at least to me. Cab, In the past in my old challenger with the 727 it like around 6700 shiftpoints but I totally agree it sounds like it wants more rpms. Although with the heavier car it didn't really ran different with lower and higher shiftpoints. Off course we'll try it with the new springs but I guess even with the same rpm's it will run nicer. That bug runs high 9's. Yuck, the box can be in rear and 1st gear the same time. Doesn't work that way glad it didn't happen at rpm's.

It's hard to exactly say where it makes most power as there's no dynosheet or what-so-ever. Just my old street / strip engine I had in my street challenger. In the much heavier street challenger with automatic it liked shiftpoints around 6500rpm but I guess that's no real comparison. Currently doing shiftpoints from 6200-6700 to see if it makes any difference. Can't do higher at the moment as something making the negine stop reving under load. I had 3 runs with exact the same trapspeed so I guess it's valvefloat. So didn't make another run as I want to check / change out the springs first. So far I left at rpms from 5200-5800 giving me a 1.30 60ft as fastest. Have another launch filmed from behind at 5800rpm, just found it at youtube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVxQLsCT4b4Another one at 5600rpm at some slow motion parts from multiple cars of our team (roadrunner, superbird charger, dart and mine); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqUHhtBlbsk
