I use the 420 that I milled to fit a 1050 dom... I havent looked at the other but I would assume the plenum size is different as well as the deck heights

772 is for a tall deck. I have one but it was mistakenly milled wrong and when it got corrected guess what. It now fits a short deck block.
I also have a 598 and a 420. The 420 is the baddest of them all as you can make it much larger inside.

Thanks guys. So were some designed for nascar and others for drag racing? The overall design looks to be the same.
I believe the 420 was for nascar... its only made for a 4150 carb

"420" was dragrace only as NASCRAP did not like the way the "420" looked so it was never run in the trucks. "598" and "598AB" was the nascar intake.
Interesting, never heard that before and thanks for the info

Heres a pic of one of the first 598s that was rough cast that I machined to fit a 4500 and doing the port work... its done now but I still havent run it yet to make sure of the port balance using EGTs

Seems to be a lot of material left in the intakes pictured.
My 420 does not have much work. I was told by the big NA guys I would be down 50 HP due to how much material is still in my 420. My plenum is quite a bit larger than the ones pictured. The runners are basically as cast with the exception of port matching and blending well up the runners.
It's too hot and I am too lazy to take some pics. Probably should sense they are for sale. But, someone will copy my unskilled work. LOL The 598 I have was done by a local professional and looks really nice in the plenum but runs abouts the same as the others. At least one would not have to weld over any overcuts.

Where are the differences? Divider length thickness or plenum vol? On the fence as to using a carb adapter for dominator or carving intake. With adapter, can at least go back to smaller carb if needed. Also like idea of splitting the manifold, cant recall who does that.

Just looking down the plenum its different... I think its the dividers... I'll have to look later today

I know the AB was a revision, but exactly what changed? Is there a story there?

I think it is different depending on the intake. Like a 772 is cloverleaf as a 420 would be square. Don't know for sure.

The version you go with depends on what you prefer with your combo. Some intakes have less meat to mill out and end up very narrow on the sealing surface. My 772 is very thin with an open plenum. But, 468 CID with a good dose on a plate system will not want a cloverleaf. If the thin gasket area scares you one can always build the outer flange up with alluminum. I had no issues and was faced with a no external welding rule in the class. I tried cloverleafs but did not like with my combos.
Thanks fellas..So what exactly does the cloverleaf do? Is it better for smaller cube combos?

I'm reaching here but a couple things come to mind. The plenum would be a little smaller. You would boost signal to the carb sort of like the trick spacers. Personally I had to run a large spacer so the cloverleaf was pointless.
