Just got home, maybe 20 cars at most (couple from each class NSS, Box, No Box and 10.5) before they got rained out...although it was a quick storm and cleared right up. lol. They just had open time trials all today.

Not a lot of people there, BUT....there were trailers still rollin' in throughout the evening and when we were leaving.

Oh and Bill, Russ ran 10.12, 12.12 in the right lane I believe. 10.08, 10.07 and 10.07 in the left.

Refused 8 hrs of overtime, 3 hr trip each way, $2.25 for a bottle of Pepsi, Total waste of time and money. Probably Less than 50 cars. There were so few Nostalgia Prostockers that Sean Dornan ran his SS/CA Cuda in NPS. Only Two cars in Pro Street. Maybe 20 in the show car field. I think there were 2 swap meet venders and no manufactures midway. Maybe 20 spectators. Where was everyone? Johnson had to have lost his butt on this event. I know I did.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

The car count was small, I agree. But the hog roast was awesome, with more than enough for everyone that attended. And JJ delivered as promised and the payouts were full amounts as advertised, even with the small car count.

JJ delivered as promised with the GUARANTEED PAYOUTS even with a low car count. Some promotors advertise that they have to have at least a 200 car count to hand out the complete purse. We took home a bunch of money as runner up in Nostalgia Super Stock, with "Animal Mike Warren" at the wheel of the 67 Hemi Belv., even in the 103 degree heat. Not too many spectators wanted to brave the heat but I did see a lot of friends that I haven't seen in 5-6 years. There were some Gold Cards handed out to the winners for free entrys for all 4 of Jeff's race and point series next year.Rowlan Ozborn from the old "Chrysler Power Mag. was on hand taking pictures and doing some stories on the cars. I got my ears filled with a lot of good things that are going to happen on the Mopar scene in the near future and it is what the Mopar public needs. Of course I took the oath of silence, 2 beers, and I will let Jeff announce it all, when he is ready. Yes this show was small, but Jeff was doing a lot of smiling about the beginning of something big. One last thing, The Warren and Augenstein 67 Hemi Belvedere would like to thank all the Nostalgia Super Stock cars that did not show up, for not showing up. The ones that did show up were all quality cars and we all had fun in the 103 degree heat.

Is that what it was? I knew it was hot but wow.

I hope Jeff is successful with his new series but this one had to hurt.

By the way, you're Belvedere was my friends favorite And he came down there mostly to see the Nostalgia Prostockers and the 10.5 cars. Both of which were pretty much a bust.

Yes, turnout was low across the board, but I'm sure he somewhat expected that. First year event and the heat didn't help. Jeff puts on good events, and I'm sure he can grow this series. I can remember Norwalk back in 2001-2004 having around 600 race cars at the CC events. I drove 160 miles each way, but had a good time and will do it again next year, but hopefully as a racer. Saw some familiar cars, but really didn't talk to anyone because I dont' know anyone by face. Maybe next year.

I came back to the trailer after a run and there it was, Jeff had reinvented the "Goodie Bag". Hadn't seen a goodie bag since Jeff sold the Chrysler Classic back in 2005.

Thanks to the following people, Chopin family for feeding me and my crew, had a great time. JJ for putting on the event,it will grow from here take that to the bank. And Ed "old yeller" for showing up and laying down that great pass. Also Bondobob for putting up money and shocks in a couple of the classes. And last but not least MCIR for giving us the best racing surface possible in that heat. Thanks again, Jeff Chopin "Chopin Performance"

The car count was small and due to several reasons. One this being the first Chrysler Challenge race, 2nd was the HEAT, 3rd was the scare some may have gotten about the track.

The HEAT was ferocious and I even wondered why I was there Then the track was an issue because of some opinions but got to hand it to Jack Moore - He asked if I ever ran there and I told him it was my first and he told me about the shutdown area and what to expect and he was dead on. It is a different feeling where they ground the track but I had no issues at all @ 133mph just a weird feeling in the shutdown area but I could live with it and saw cars run way faster then that with no issues. I think next year will be an interesting series and other options for us Mopar Racers. I really think Jeff and his crew will step it up and put on some great events. Got to meet a few more members which was cool and pitted next to my friend Jim Guy and ended up running him first round. As you all know he is a great racer and we had a heck of a run but he trailered me by a .07 margin Also my bud's Walt, Chad and Lyndsey (she's the best looking of the trio by far!!!) came and hung out on Friday which was great

I drove 3 hours to get there. I talked to you gomango in the cooldown area.

We had a good time even with a low car count. I am still debating selling the road runner to build a car to race again!

I hope this will continue and maybe to a track closer to my house!

Come to think of it I talked to max maniac. I asked how old the paint was on your car and I had the camo hat on.

The weather, both heat and threat of rain conspired against the event.
I think previously stated car and spectator estimates are on the low side. Hope the event will gain traction over the next few years.

Thanks to Jeff and MCIR !

I had a great time,
Thank you to everyone that came out, I was glad to finally put some faces with names. See old friends and make new ones!

A huge thank you to Bob, (BobsProFab)for sticking around after we were all done and helping me unlock my car after locking my keys in it.

Meeting all the Moparts members and building for the future, I'm very excited for what we have in store for you all in 2012!

I want to give out a very special thank you to whoever had a green golf cart and for only hitting my front bumper instead of putting a dent in my car elsewhere.
