and I'm not the only one who got one chromed damaged... a friend of mine too. Not saying they are junk really, but, maybe just bad luck with these ?

I also had an orange box fail on my '76 power wagon 440, watch out for those cheap Wells brand ones, not too good for electronic stuff either..

The box may be OK, it could be the coil or intermittent ballast resistor.

If the box was bad the pickup is right behind it seen it a dozen times. Trash the mopar get a pertronix cheaper and far more reliable
I rather run points then Mopar ignition I keep them on the car for spare ignition
The most reliable of electronic boxes is black box 4 pin factory ecu and where they came up with that rev limit is ?? me as I have in the past went right to 6500 with a stock box

Interesting...I keep hearing about these MP orange boxes always failing left and right but I have run them for 15 or more years and never had one fail.
