I second the statement about building your car to fit more than one class. It seems classes and rules change every year so you have to be able to adapt your car to whats "in" at the time. Thats the whole reason we need to do so many updates on our car. Everything has been an afterthought trying to keep up with rule changes, safety equipment changes, etc. It would be nice to be able to just build one from scratch but it costs way too much money! Our car is an A-body that runs deep into the 5's as well. Mini tubs and 28 x 10.5 tires. Low 5.20s and 137mph so far. Soon to be even faster....
Any vids
Here is a pass from last year....

the class changing thing will bite you.. i built it specifically for and ran cheapstreet class in 04-05 and in 06 they made wholesale changes and i couldnt keep up $ just to comply.. i always showed up -.15 off the pace. if my work gets back to where it used to be ill go after mean street or something like that..? best pass low 6,60's in legal trim 10"x26" slick. i think i can get this car..in the 6.40's as is..(2005's race rules) fwiw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8iwGhA8KfYi know its nowhere near the 5's you asked about though.. this is a pass last yr or so...but slower..different/worse rear gear and converter fwiw. .
365" Iron J heads,,3480lbs best 1.39 60ft on SS springs.10.54,124 mph ...6.67 1/8th et.average 60fts 1.46 w/ small cam &.063 no2 pill tagged & insured [image][/image]

I built my car for ORSCA Modified Street, which is close to Mean Street or the ORTC Ultimate Street class. Now ORSCA is gone and there's only a couple ORTC races a year, I don't have a class around here to run other than some smallblock nitrous races and all these guys have a couple foggers and are 2600#. My car has stock uncut rear fenderwells, 9" wheel, 275/60 or 28x10.5, 8 3/4 rear, caltracs, 2 speed trany, X block, W9, single stage plate. Finally getting it down the track consistantly and ready to race. May head up to Jackson Tn. on the 2nd and go to Holly Springs on the 3rd. Don't know how to post anything using this iphone, could email some video or pics if someone else could post it.

How far from Crossville, TN are you? We've got a monthly heads up program your car would fit in and we definitely don't have enough Mopars!! Check out my sig for rules. I think you would fit in the Cheap Street class.

Been in the 5's with this turd. Sbm, 1 stage nos, 3280lbs, powerglide, 8 3/4 stock wheeltubs, springs in stock location...hell it still has the original shackels, its all about power management and finding a happy medium
, Its just a bit harder i think with the mopars because there spring eye location is farther back then say the Novas & earlier Camaros, this makes it harder to "lift" the front for weight distrabution, so we have to work harder finding that happy medium. Your doing really good being in the 5s on the stock locations.

Crossville is 280 miles for me, i've considered it but the cheap street calls for -4 line and std valve angle. The other class allows 88s. They will be in the 4s.
If you are talking ET they run in cheap street from 5.30s to 5.70s most of the time around 5.40s to 5.50s and in real street from 5.0s to 5.30s but pro street runs 4.80s to 5.20s BRAD runs in that class i run in 6.0 class if you think you are coming let me know we can save you a parking spot good luck .
