I had a trouble code with my 95 dakota indicating the EGR wasn't working. I took one off my 3.9 V6 and put it on the 5.2 V8 and the engine seems to run fine. I noticed that the V6 and V8 use two different EGR valves however and wondered what the difference was. Do I need an operational EGR and am I losing performance by using the V6 EGR?
