A fine example of how people diminish the talent required to fix things.

The scanning of the codes is just a step towards isolating/defining the issue. Then the real work starts. True, you can "shotgun" it and be a "parts-changer" but that can get expensive. It's OK on the inexpensive sensors and modules. Troubleshooting, reading service manuals and "troubetrees", as we called them, separates the men from the boys.

Me? I'll throw down for a new sensor and try the shotgun method to save time and hope for the best. If that fails, break out the trusty digital multimeter and go down the so nicely supplied list as time permits.
