Has anyone used the AMD E body hinges on a 71-2 B body. Any fitment issues ect

Thanks
Kevin

E and B hinges won't swap. The E body has longer slots and slightly different length arms. Ask me how I know!

lets see some pics 70 e-body s and 71 b-bodys ones

Referring to 71-2 E vs. 71-2 B... the base is the only different part. The arms are all identical.

Here's a few pics showing the various 70E, 71-2E & 71-2B components.
I've never tried using the E's on B's or visa-versa, but my belief is that you'd have very limited adjustment range.

70E has the narrower top strap design; 71E/B got wider on this part and the rear rivet's diameter was increased. There's several other minor variations, but no hinge geometry changes.

I have a core set of 71-2B style available to rebuild.

And, I agree, the 73-4 style "toothless" style hinges are a better design with a better life, if exact originality isn't a concern.
