The direction say to "set crank to 15 BTDC, drop the distributor in and line up the rotor to the #1 post on the cap and then tighten down the distributor hold down".

That is all good but how does the distributor know where the BODY is pointing to to set the timing??? On a Mopar Performance distributor I would do the same thing....bring the crank up to 15 BTDC but then I would line up the sater and the pick up before I would tighten up the hold down. This way I know that when I would start up the engine the timing is somewhere around 15 BTDC for the start up. With this E curve distributor there is nothing to line up ( there is no pick up, stator....nothing!!) Under the cap or the rotor.


....there is nothing like driving my 1968 Hemi Dart around town and having people looking at you like you're nuts!!
