If I recall correctly, yes there is an "inner" seal that keeps the rear end fluid from contaminating the tapered roller bearings (axle bearings), and there is another seal on the other side of the roller bearing (think this is the one that needs to be pressed on with the bearing ??) . . . the inner bearing you would need a bearing puller to take out . . . the inner bearing is usually located just inside of the axle bearing, you should be able to see it . . . . .

Best bet is to check with any service manual . . .
