welllll, lets see now, 1969 Charger RT 440/TF automatic and the previous owner, changed the filter and re-filled the trans.

Drove it from Garland TX to Greenville, TX, about 40 plus miles. Made it to Lake Ray Hubbard Bridge, about 8 or 9 miles from his shop and noticed lots of white smoke billowing from under the car and out the tailpipes (I thought).

Turns out, they filled the trans with car shut off and it was a tad overfilled.

Took 5 quarts of fluid to get home. When we dropped trans, we replaced the front pump seal, rear seal the o-ring on the dipstick tube and that was plenty enough.

So yea, you can damage a few "inconsequential"
