Are you 100% sure the heads raised the stock style edelbrock aluminum intake an inch? I used aluminum Indy EZ heads with the Edelbrock aluminum intake and the stock height Holley mechanical secondary carbs. It sits up higher than stock, and fits slightly tighter under the shaker hood, but it works fine and it looks cool sticking up higher. I've seen some that were so low the openings to the scoop are almost below the trim ring line.

You will likely need to modify your base plate to get it to work with your set-up. Either that or shim your K-frame down some.

I do believe the mighty mount engine mounts i'm using raised the engine slightly higher than the stock mounts though.
