Thanks! The steroid only helps the inflammation of the optic nerve when it first happens. I did that. What it means is that you typically don't stay blind, but once optic nerve cells are dead, there's no fixing them. There are about 1.1 million in each eye. Vision improves for about 6 months and that's probably as good as it will get.
