A 65 slip-yoke trans is a 1-year-only trans. Desirable? Depends on who needs it. And for console-shift pre-66 cars there is a simple work-around that allows a 66-up trans to be used.

I sold a 65 trans at a swap meet last year, expecting to have a goldmine on my hands, but only one guy asked about it. He ended up beating me down to $250 (not incredibly much more than a regular 727).
