Unfortunately on 90% you'd be driving over a whole lot of Slant parts. IIRC, on 30% they found some cracking in the crankshaft.




At lower percentages, you're forced to run very lean to make any power, and so detonation is an issue. Once you start getting up there, over 80 percent, you can run it extremely fat, which not only makes the power, but does so with nice rounded power pulses. Tuned right, it's actually easier on parts.
