weld it up nice. you will NEVER have a problem have done it in countless jeeps for off roading with 8 1/4 axles. trust me you will break the driveshaft/ujoint/ringandpinon/or axleshaft before the spider gears welds. just make shure it is very clean before welding. i use brake clean. then stand back and light the remaning brake clean on fire befor you weld to make shure it doesnt flame up once you start welding and catch yourself onfire. i would use caution doing this, i seem to remember a thread around here or somewhere else sometime ago about using breakclean on something that is getting welded,due to the breakclean reacting with the weldinggas and heat and turning into some very very nasty gas..
