It will, 8 CFM is a common measurement.
However: it admits only air (if your ring seal is good), and drops the vacuum in your idle and transition slots.
It may work, but not exactly the same way and will take some tweaking.
You could just admit regulated air via banked solenoids, or an adjustable valve.
Have you tried cracking the secondaries slightly?
