i have had no trouble with my mechanical carter fuel pump. the rod you hold up with a finger while you slide the pump arm lip in.

$70 dollar one flows well too. the $120 strip one needs a regulator.

after storgae, without an electric pump to bump. i use a bulb of fuel, and squirt it down the vents . pump the gas pedal once to fill the accel pump and wet the blades a lil at the end.....

i set the manual choke and turn the key starts up and idles hi at 1400rpm. easy. push in the choke slowly nas it warms up and idles well at 900.
