I had one in a mild 440, w/ logs and 3.55's and it was a complete dog. As for the header question, yes they help alot but if you alrady have that cam in the car w/ no stall and less that 3.91 gears, it won't trelly matter if you have headers or not.
I think this cam expects higher compression than a stock deck 440 will have. This combo on a zero-deck engine with true 10.5:1 will have some bite.
